The day began with the bride getting ready at the lovely Steigenberger Wiltcher’s hotel followed by a first look in a beautiful park near their home. The gorgeous park was full of both manicured lawns and trees as well as wild natural spaces where wild green parakeets have begun nesting. A mere 10 minute walk away from the park is the stunning Hotel de Ville, where we took portraits. The afternoon ceremony took place in the sunny and bright loft of the venue. Ev and Jean-Mi truly made their ceremony their own by having a friend officiate and discuss what marriage uniquely meant to them and their bridesmaids and groomsmen each made a speech during the ceremony about the couple. A favorite moment at the end was when the ring bearer brought the ring up to the bride and groom, he stayed up there right in front of them to have a front row viewing to their first kiss. Cocktail hour followed in the courtyard below and featured one of the most creative photo booths I’ve ever seen- a life size photo from the bride and groom’s engagement session with their heads cut out. Guests took photos then pasted them into the guest book and left the couple messages. Dinner followed in another lofty sunny room next door, brightened up by unique centerpieces of terrariums full of wildflowers, a different one on each table. The groom and his friends did an impromptu serenade before the bride and groom did their first dance to a local Gypsy Jazz Band.

“Of course there must be lots of Magic in the world,” he said wisely one
day, “but people don’t know what it is like or how to make it. Perhaps
the beginning is just to say nice things are going to happen until you
make them happen.” ―
Frances Hodgson Burnett,
The Secret Garden
This little anniversary
session took place on a gorgeous Spring morning in the Presidio in San
Francisco. We found our own little Secret Garden spot in the park that
felt straight out of a fairy tale and photographed as the sun broke
through the clouds and illuminated the morning. Insanely gorgeous
florals by Natalie Bowen Designs, stationary by Rifle Paper Co. and flower crowns by Serenity Crystal.
