Oh how I love proposals! Getting to photograph such an important moment in someone’s life is such an honor and I love giving my client’s such a cool memory on film for them to have for the rest of their lives. Plus I’m a sucker for dramatic images and you can’t get much more iconic or dramatic than someone down on bended knee! This glamorous proposal planned by the incredible Heart Bandits was full of over the top gorgeous details that were all deeply personal to AB and Honey- like a penguin ice sculpture because she adores penguins, the use of blue lighting because blue is her favorite color and having cherry blossoms flown in because they’re her favorite flower. Everything was meticulously planned and went of without a hitch! AB told Honey there were going out for the night and she figured they were going to a club in the Meatpacking District, little did she know that waiting on the penthouse floor of the Glass House in Chelsea was an elaborate proposal and all of her closest friends and family tucked away on a floor below who there to celebrate her birthday. After the proposal their friends and family surprised her and revealed they were there and AB and Honey surprised them back by announcing their engagement!

This gorgeous proposal may have been a little chilly in the snow, but with the sun shining through the trees it was so beautiful! The proposal was planned wonderfully by The Heart Bandits. I gave them a little photo lesson talking about leading lines and rules of thirds, starting at Bethesda Fountain and walking through the rambles giving photo tips along the way. Then I set them in the perfect spot in front of Belvedere Castle telling them I wanted to take a photo of them there to show them a trick of perspective and Frank went down on bended knee and of course Jessica said yes!! A wonderful guitar player strummed their song a couple feet away elevating the moment to truly magical! Then we walked around as the sun peeked through the clouds to take photos in the snow. Congrats you two!
This proposal planned by The Heart Bandits was so adorable! The couple had a private art class at The Art Studio where they sat across from each other painting reproductions from prints they were given. Secretly Alek was painting “Will You Marry Me” (in Norwegian) and at the end of the lesson they revealed their paintings to each other and she was in for the surprise of a lifetime! I loved her reaction!
