I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing fellow film-shooter and talented photographer, Valentina Glidden and her sweet family to commemorate their first trip to France this Fall. We spent a beautiful afternoon photographing in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower and then strolled past the burnt and crimson colored leaves along the banks of the Seine as the sun set and the Eiffel Tower began to light up. As Southern Californians we don’t get the opportunity to enjoy too much fall foliage and there’s nothing quite like the orange trees in Paris, especially when the golden glow of sunset hits. The Trocadero in front of the Eiffel Tower, is an incredibly busy spot and we were surrounded by thousands of tourists as we photographed there, but their sweet family was able to block out the hustle and bustle of the city and we had a sweet and quiet moment amidst the chaos.
I can’t believe my sweet adorable cousin’s baby Stella is already 1 year old! We had some fun celebrating her first birthday while I was in NY this Spring with a cake smash session shot on film. Her brother wanted nothing to do with his cake 2 years ago, but she dug in and had a blast!
I do a lot of family portraits in New York City’s parks. I love photographing in nature and the photos are always beautiful, but there’s something so special about a city session set amongst the cobblestones and landmarks of New York City. This very special family are not only dear friends, but were also one of my first wedding clients. When our original plan to shoot in Central Park got called off because of cold temperatures we decided to hit the streets of DUMBO the next day instead incorporating the Brooklyn Bridge into the shots, where I had photographed their engagement photos years ago.
