I was twenty-one years when I wrote this song
I’m twenty-three now but I won’t be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand
I always listened to Simon and Garfunkel when I was younger, but my Freshman year at NYU I got really into them and would wander around the city trying to escape my dorm and crazy roommate and think what it must have been like for Simon and Garfunkel to walk these same streets and write such beautiful words. One of my favorite songs has always been Leaves that Are Green, and now in my senior year, my last Fall in New York as a student the song seems so fitting. Thanks for the tunes guys!
