Traditional Dance in the Virunga Mountains

At the Volcanoes Virunga Lodge a group of dancers from the local town performed a few beautiful traditional dances for us. The dancers were very good and I especially enjoyed watching the younger boys who didn’t yet know all the steps, but were trying their hardest to follow along with the older boys. What was really nice though was that a lot of other kids came up to the lodge from the town to watch the dance too. I assume that a big dance production like that is probably not done too often in the towns and is only performed for tourists now so it was a treat for all of us to watch together.
