Marina and Adrian’s New York City Wedding at David Burke Garden, New York City Fine Art Wedding Photography
Marina and Adrian are my favorite kind of couple who don’t let a little thing like rain get in the way of their wedding day. Their summer wedding took place at the rooftop garden of one of my favorite restaurants, David Burke Kitchen. The rain managed to hold off for their portraits, which we took on the Highline and around the West Village and then started to drizzle right before the reception. The staff sprung into action and moved the whole ceremony set up to under a covered part of the deck and all their friends and family crowded in for one of my favorite ceremonies ever that was brimming with energy and excitement as everyone squished in close. Not everything will go the way you want on the wedding day, but a good attitude and awesome friends and family turn a bad situation into a spectacular one! There’s a second level deck and one of my favorite photos from the day is a wide shot down on everyone huddled together watching the very sweet ceremony, officiated by the bride’s brother. The reception was moved downstairs into the restaurant, which is striking with beautiful wood beams and large portraits from the farms where all of the amazing food is sourced. The food itself was also stunning and a definite highlight of the night. Having good food was very important to the bride and groom and they even stopped off at Melt on the Highline for a ice cream cookie sandwich during portraits! Love a bride whose not worried about getting a little ice cream on her dress!! (Although luckily she didn’t). The bride and groom danced the night away to an amazing live band- joined a couple times by their adorable flower girl on the drums- finishing the evening with beautiful traditional Armenian dancing. See more from their wedding on the Knot and see it in print in early 2016.
