A Behind the Scenes Look into Silk and Willow’s Studio for Cottage Hill Magazine

I had the honor of shooting the lovely Shellie of Silk and Willow earlier this Spring for the exquisite new magazine Cottage Hill.  The magazine is a fresh take on the wedding and lifestyle content taking over the blogosphere and focuses on authentic stories with beautiful imagery.  Shellie is an amazing #girlboss who asked herself “If I could do anything what would it be?” From that question she started her company Silk and Willow, which creates gorgeous plant-dyed silks that she makes all herself in her studio in the Hudson Valley.  Just over a year in business and she has been published just about everywhere you can imagine including being a finalist in the prestigious American Made Awards from Martha Stewart.  I had the pleasure of working with her on an editorial with her last year and was so excited to return to her home to shoot these behind the scenes photos!  Her studio is exactly what you would expect from such a lovely company- prepare to get lost in the beautiful world of Silk and Willow and don’t forget to pick up a copy of Cottage Hill to read the article on newsstands now!
