Where to go?
We did the first day on our own hitting up the big attractions like Lake Yellowstone and Old Faithful. The next day we went out with David from Yellowstone Guides and had the most perfect day ever. We saw herds of bison, osprey, elk, a bear, a wolf, a bald eagle a yellow bellied marmot and the list goes on and on. He was incredibly knowledgeable and more important incredibly personable and nice! We had such a fun time talking with him and it was hands down one of the best days of the trip.
Where to stay?
We did one night at Yellowstone Under Canvas, which was super fun, but I would recommend it more for couples than families. Sharing a tent may be super romantic and fun, but not with your dad….(no offense dad). The next night we stayed at the Bar N Ranch which is the property the tents are on (although they are different ownership) which was very nice for the one night.
Not to miss?
Embrace the Western kitsch and visit the rodeo in West Yellowstone! It was really long so we only stayed for the first hour, but it was so fun and definitely got us in the Western spirit!
