When researching various activities to do in the Everglades I found out there are many ways to see them- by air boat, canoe, flat boat, hiking, and the one that really piqued my interest- swamp walking. I immediately ruled out the air boats as they are terrible for the environment and local wildlife so that left me with the other four options and over the course of 2 and a half days my dad and I managed to do all four. I decided to start on a high note with swamp walking at
Clyde Butcher’s Big Cypress Gallery. I had so much fun wading through the thigh high water and checking out birds and baby alligators. The light was just gorgeous and the vegetation incredible. I could easily see how Clyde is so inspired to create his stunning black and white master pieces. Here are some of my favorites from the afternoon.
