Happy International Polar Bear Day!

Today February 27th is International Polar Bear Day!  Today we all should take a minute to think about our personal impact on the environment and ways we can make it better!  I’ve turned off the heat in my apartment today and put on a warmer sweater and opened my shades instead of using my lights.  Little steps like that can make a huge difference if everyone did them so think of the little things that you can do to help our environment and encourage your friends to pledge to do them too!

So in honor of Polar Bear Day check out Polar Bears International and read up on ways you can help save the polar bear and their precarious icy home up north!  Below are a few of my favorite polar bear pictures from my trip to the Arctic and I hope they inspire you to care about these majestic bears so we have more than just pictures of them in the wild to pass on to future generations!

New York City Children’s Photography, Central Park

New York City has had an extremely mild winter this year and as much as I love the snow I have been rejoicing over being able to shoot outdoors all winter long!  While I like doing studio work, my true passion is shooting outdoors capturing a person on location.  Especially when shooting children there is nothing like running around in a park and turning a photo session into a play session.  The best pictures are taken when a kid forgets you have the camera and is just having fun smiling and giggling on an adventure in the park.  Here a few portraits from a recent session having fun in the beautiful winter’s light in Central Park.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  In honor of Valentine’s day I’ve rounded up some of my favorite photos from my archive of animals in love.  From a pride of lions having a snuggle to blue footed boobies watching lovingly watch over their nest and from elephant trunk hugs to tiger kisses here are some pictures to make you smile!  Valentine’s day may be a corny holiday, but at the center of it is love and remembering to tell each other that we love and appreciate each other, which I think is something worth celebrating.
