Today I went to the Ninth Annual NYC International Pickle Day! It’s located in a parking lot on Broome Street, between Ludlow and Essex on the Lower East Side. It’s run by the NY Food museum and it is a lot of fun- even for those of us (like me) who don’t like pickles! There’s also pizza, organic fruits and vegetables and yummy farm products like honey, fresh baked bread and cheese. Really the focus is on the pickles though, and trust me you can smell the pickles from over a block away. If you do not like the smell stay clear of the lower east side the day of the festival! The lines are long for the really good stands so make sure to go with a buddy to keep you company. Also dogs are welcome so bring alone your furry friend! For anyone who missed it today, you should definitely check it out next year!
